Academic year at Stonar, UK
Our boarding programme at the prestigious English school Stonar, part of the Globeducate group, gives our pupils the chance to spend one term, two terms or a whole year there. The 120-year-old school is set among some wonderful surroundings near Bath and 90 minutes from London. The classes are small, there are many free-time activities and pupils can study the British curriculum without losing touch with their local tutor.
As well as its excellent academic programme and well-equipped facilities, Stonar offers students the opportunity to improve their knowledge by living in English alongside pupils from all over the world, pupils with whom they share experiences and make life-long friendships.
The residences where the students stay make for the students’ full academic development as they do not need to travel to school and there are no distractions from outside school life. In their free time pupils can spend time in the common room equipped with Wi-Fi, TV, DVD player and videogames.
What Stonar has to offer outdoors is wonderful: pupils can take advantage of all the school’s sports facilities where they can play tennis and football, go horse-riding and swimming with their new friends. This gives them a chance to relax and socialise with schoolmates from all over the world, learning from the older ones and giving the younger ones a helping hand.
Summer in Wales
Agora Sant Cugat International School offers the chance of a wonderful summer in Colwyn Bay and Llandudno, two quiet tourist towns on the north coast of Wales, where the pupils can enjoy a true international adventure. The area’s landscapes, together with the hospitality of the people who live there, makes it a perfect environment for pupils to enjoy a wide range of fun and cultural activities, and an ideal setting for a language immersion programme.
The pupils stay with carefully selected Welsh families, two pupils per family, where they have full board, and are close to the school where their lessons are. Living with a family will offer them the opportunity to practise the language daily in a fluent and natural way.
The school’s setting is beautiful, between the coast and the mountains of Snowdonia National Park. The school has classrooms and different sports facilities for all types of activities. The programme includes 15 hours of lessons a week, taught by qualified native teachers who specialise in teaching English to foreign students.
As well as the lessons, every afternoon from Monday to Friday the students enjoy different fun activities and sports, such as basketball, football, swimming, tennis, etc. The programme also includes a weekly full-day excursion to Snowdonia, Alton Towers, Manchester, Liverpool, Paintball, etc. Every week there is also an afternoon excursion to Conwy, Caernarfon, Great Orme, etc. Pupils also go to the cinema and, once a week, there is a disco-party with karaoke, and all the pupils, teachers, and accompanying staff get together to have a barbecue.
Summer in Wales is a unique 4-week learning opportunity for pupils in 6th Primary and 1st and 2nd ESO to enjoy a true international experience!
